In the first step genetically modified therapeutic cells are cultured. The cells are provided by the Partner or can be made to specification by SGAUSTRIA, potentially using its proprietory inlicenced cell lines.

In the second step, being encapsulated in cellulose sulphate approved for medical applications using SGAUSTRIA’s unique process and technology. In this encapsulation step cells are mixed with cellulose sulphate before being dropped into a gelation bath thereby creating standardised encapsulated cells.

In the third step a short cultivation of the encapsulated therapeutic cells takes place under carefully controlled conditions and to specific timeframes. This facilitates further development of the cells.

Finally the last step involves the filling of the cells into vials and then freezing at - 80° Celsius. The frozen encapsulated cells are stored at - 80° Celsius until required for treatment.
